Gen atè ZetaYonni yo, kounyela ann Lwisyann, yon konminote yo rele "french creole" (m ap mofwaze kreyòl fransyan).
Mo a "konminote" apa sèlman yon mo men yon goumen, padavwa yo le fè moun konprann yo pa andann konminote Blan osnon konminote Nwè. Nou ta kwè lidantite sa a pa fèk fèt men apa vre pyès toubonnman : Lè ventyenm syèk ann rouvè, atè Nouvèl-Òlean, moun tap pale di òkès blan yo, òkès nwè yo ak òkès kreyòl yo.
Pa konfonn lide yo ak lide jòdi a ke m ap kriye "kreyolite andewò" : Nou pa NI Youwopeyen NI Afriken.
M ap gadewè kounyela, de jan kakile kreyolite a : Kreyolite andewo ( yonn k ap getoyize) ak kreyolite andedan (yonn k ap mete ansanm tout kalite moun yo kivledi tout kalite kilti yo). M ap vweye monte kreyolite andedan ki yon kreyolite AK youwopeyen AK afriken ...AK miltikreyòl !

Re: french creole community

There is in the United States of America, especially in Louisiana, a community called "French Creole". It has long been neglected by the Creolist ( not Louisianan) probably because it is not a very large community and it speaks most of the time ...English American. Nevertheless this community is symbollicaly very important because it tells us very concretely who we are !
The word "community" for it sounds like a claim because they think they are NEITHER Whites Nor Blacks. One might think that such an identity is recent but it is the contrary :In the early twentieth century New Orleans is already distinguished black orchestras, white orchestras and creole orchestras.
I insist however on the fact that the contemporary Creole identity of NEITHER Europeans NOR Africans does not arise from this identity experience. I distinguish, indeed, two kinds of definition of the Creole identity: the exclusive Creole identity (the one who ghetthoïses it) and the including Creole identity (the one who includes groups of diverse cultural origins). I claim this inclusive Creole identity which is EITHER African OR European ... AND multicreole!
