Présentation en français

Présentation en anglais

« ... The Rest » is a response to the challenge that Patrick Chamoiseau threw out to Jean-Luc de Laguarigue
concerning the irreducible in photography ; what we see here is a photographie work created without a caméra,
starting at the point where Kodak's slogan of 1888 - « You press the button, we do the rest » - leaves off. Using
a completely new digital alchemy, the photographer has taken silversalts that were condemned to death by the industry,
and turned them into incredible gold mines. « ... The Rest » captures the kind of wild, uncontrolled memory that
médical science normalises by labelling it with a proper name (Alzheimer's), and confirms the truth of Braque's saying :
'art is made to disturb, science to reassure'.
